Chester Potter was born on January 2, 1980.
In early childhood he occupied much of his time
with crayons glue and construction
paper,
always eager to create, discover. Later in his childhood his need
for
discovery was expressed by dissassembeling anything he coud get
his
hands on. This spauned a fascination with invention and the
creative
outlet that it provides.
In
early high school he became involved in rowing and
swimming.
The two sports being both technically precise and
physically
tasking developed a determination to add quality to his
creativitiy
no matter how difficult the process. Later in high school a
class
in drawing and composition provided the perfect outlet for his
creativity.
That one class evolved into a final year of high school filled
with
classes involving art from painting, to photography, to sculpture.
Moving
on to collage Chester studied at The School of Visual
Arts.
Although he majored in graphic design to quench his thirst for
percision
and detail, he felt a strong connection to fine art. There was
a
satisfaction from creating a tactile piece of artwork with his hands
that
couldn¢t be achived in graphic arts using computers. He did
however
find a creative nitch in web programming. By doing work as
a
freelance web developer he made the time to attend to his love of
fine
art and keep sculpting and painitng.
A
few years ago he dicided to dovote more of his time to
artwork.
experimenting with several techniques leading to his most
recient
work. He is now a fulltime artist focusing on large scale
intricate
labyrinths exploiting his eye for detail and urge to push his
creative
limits.
